Hello there,,,,well pain in the heel or ball of foot as you say,,,could be a mild problem however if ignored can be a bit stressfull.... in your case you exactly know why it happened...so its good.
Do visit a musculoskeletal Physio who would teach you some basic stretching exercises for the foot arches,,,along with stretching of TA...a few sessions of Ultrasound with Topical diclofinac based gel can bring lot of relief.

wear a well coushined footwear...which will have proper shock absorbing heel surface...and hot formentation twice or thrice a day.
