Bad taste and smell in my nose & throat

Whenever i breath...a disgusting taste and small comes into my throat thorugh my nose...i dont know what is it...this problem is in my left side nose. I feel so bad whenever it happens. Pls tell me how to cure this..i have cold from 2-3 days also...this is due to any infection or allergy or whatever...
