Back pain on extention

2021-05-25 14:56:07
While deadlifting, I felt a stretch in my back, I had no pain bending forward and sideways but I feel pain while extending backwards. It's been one month and I've stopped working out and have not been doing and workout since then. If I extend backward I feel tightness in that muscle. Can it be a disc problem or just a muscle strain?

Hii It could be mostly a back muscle spasm due to heavy weight lifting as you said. It should go within few days with medications and exercise and some precautions. If it doesn't resolves then it could be something else like disc problem or canal stenosis. For detailed consultation kindly connect with me through practo . Let me help me out. Thanks 👍

It can be both. A disc issue is generally associated with nerve compression which in most cases leads to pain in the legs as well. If your issue is localised to the back it is most probably due to muscle spasm caused by overuse/ inadequate back support.
