It's common for babies to experience changes in their latch as they grow. If your baby is now latching with his gums and causing you pain, there are a few things you can try: 1. Repositioning: Ensure that your baby is properly positioned and latched onto the breast. Experiment with different positions to find one that is comfortable for both of you. 2. Check for Teething:At around 3 months, some babies start teething, and this might affect their latch. Gently check your baby's gums for any signs of teething, and consider providing a teething toy to alleviate discomfort. 3. Seek Assistance:If the issue persists, consider reaching out to a lactation consultant or your healthcare provider. They can offer guidance on proper latching techniques and address any concerns related to your baby's feeding. It's essential to address the issue promptly to ensure a comfortable feeding experience for both you and your baby.
