Baby holding head with both hands

2026-04-05 16:39:38
My baby who is of 12 months is holding his head with both hands and repeating the same action multiple times since a day. When doing so, he is normal(playful) at times and irritated at times. Is it something unusual or a normal behaviour? Any physical consultation with doctor is required at this moment? Suggestions pls. Note : He is having cold and cough since 3 days and taking medicines for the same.

At 12 months the babies don't hold their head with anything.  The head holding is perfect and they make an attempt to walk. Please consult a Paediatrician in your area if your child is showing this gesture often.

The child may have ear pain or irritation in the ears and is not able to tell . Look for any discharge from both ears and if you find its there then consult your physician or pediatrician.
