The number of motions is not important at this age,the consistency of stools is,which should be soft and formed,and may vary from 10-12 a day to one motion after 3-4 days. If breastfed only,give feeds at a gap of atleast 2 to 2-1/2 hours,maintain strict hygiene in feeds. If top fed,use only formula milk,give feeds using a spoon and katori,not a bottle,and maintain strict hygiene in preparation and giving of top milk. Add Enterogermina vial half vial twice a day for 5 days. If not improving in 3 days OR accompanied by other symptoms like vomiting or fever or dullness and refusal to feed,consult your paediatrician.
