Does holding baby in hand and lap restrict his growth and doesn't allow him to gain weight.if this true then kindly suggest some technique that he can sleep on his own. He is 1 and Half month old.

Carrying the child will stimulate him emotionally as well as physically. So carrying the child will not hamper his growth

No there is no effect on growth of the baby. Its natural for them to want then to be hold. Try making them sleep in prone position if it helps otherwise until the sleep you can hold them and lie them down once they sleep.

Holding baby in this position doesn't halt growth in anyway. By holding this way baby will be warm and comfortable. Bonding will also develop.

Holding the baby will have no effect on his weight and growth whatsoever. Babies prefer it because it soothes them.. You can hold him until he falls asleep and then slowly place him down in his crib/ mat/ babycot etc.
