Both of these medications can be added as augmenting agents to the primary treatment and the choice essentially lies with patient and doctor both. Risperidone is more commonly used but if sedation and weight gain or diabetes are the other issues the patient is dealing with, aripiprazole is preferred

Hi, yes both have evidence as augmenting agents in OCD, and if all parameters are kept neutral then perhaps most psychiatrists tend to lean more towards risperidone than aripiprazole
