Is having astigmatism of -0.75 (CYL) normal or is it serious? Doctor suggested me glasses..do I have to wear glasses permanently ie throughout my whole life or is it temporary?

Is it only -0.75 cyl or is there some spherical component also? Is this number in both eyes or one eye? Were you having any specific eye complaints that made you visit the doctor?
