Appendicitis is essentially a clinical diagnosis.However, in case of appendicular lump or mass, it can be seen in Ultrasound or CT Scan.

Ultrasound is still the best investigation for appendicitis..only if u have clinical features of appendicitis.. But in 10 percent of cases appendicitis can be missed , only if it's behind the large intestines , then we call these as retroceacal appendicitis , with strong clinical suspicion,  we ask  these patient to.take CECT abdomen and pelvis..which is 100 % confirmatory ..
