I am 40 years, male. Few years ago I went through medical situation where I had panic attacks and anxiety. I had been through some nights where I couldn’t sleep but later on I went through medications and I overcame the problem. I haven’t had any kind of insomnia ever since.however whenever I go to sleep now I think what if I don’t sleep. I keep fighting with my anxiety of “ what if I don’t get sleep” and will keep thinking about what happens to our bodies before I fall asleep. Any solution

I understand ur difficulties. Treating insomnia with just sleeping pills will not help u. The cause of the insomnia needs to be determined. U might b having something called  psychophysiological insomnia where thinking too about sleep decreases sleep. V need to also check whether depression and anxiety r the  underlying cause of insomnia. Depression makes a person sensitive and irritable to things which they were able to tolerate before and can lead to interpersonal problems also. V would need to know few more details like ur sleep, hunger, energy levels, interest etc to give appropriate suggestions. Ur problems can easily be treated with counselling and if needed medications. Don't let ur problems affect ur personal or family life. Dont worry, u will b fine. U need a psychiatrist evaluation. I would be more than happy to consult u online through the Practo chat option. Best wishes for speedy recovery!!
