What is the use of Anonaly scan? The scan is to identify any major anomalies in the fetus which can hamper fetus life in future. So it is done by 18 to 19weeks and the aim is Medical termination is legal upto 19weeks 6days of period. So if any1 find major anomalies in the fetus at 18-19 weeks, they can take decision on termination by 19+6days. That is the motto. But when patient already missed the 18-19 weeks scan, she can do it at 22-23 weeks. Only termination option will not be available if any major anomalies are there.
