I am suffering from ankle stiffness for the past 30years. Consulted many rumatalogists, orthopaedic doctors. But they are prescribed painkiller tablets like diclofenac, aceclofenac. I don't have pain suffering only from stiffness. I need relaxation so that i can walk freely.

This could be a generalised stiffness in the ankle muscles. Sometimes the problem is not as serious as it seems to be. You can visit a good physiotherapist around to get ankle mobilisations and stretching/MET for your ankle joint to increase the Range of Motion. The muscles and the fascia may also need some mobilisation.

Pain killer do not help in long run. If stiffness is more at ankle level, you may opt for a ankle.arthroscopy wit h debridement and capsular release follows by physiotherapy .
