For cesarean sections regional (spinal) anaesthesia is preferred unless there are contraindications to it or there is dire emergency where there isn't enough time for administration of regional anaesthesia. Every procedure comes with pros and cons. So does general anaesthesia. There can be a varied set of reasons for backache with spinal anaesthesia which may not be directly related to it. You can discuss this issue with your gynaecologist and the anaesthesia consultant prior to your cesarean section and decide accordingly.
