Anemia during pregnancy

Currently I am undergoing 33rd Week of pregnancy. My hemogolbin range suddenly started falling from last 1 and half month. Initially it was 8.7. Doctor suggested to have 3 orofer s iron injection once in a week. After taking the same, urine started become reddish and haemoglobin detected as 6.3. Ferritine was 716 that is higher than normal. Due to severe muscle pain in back and waist I was admitted to a Hospital. There they transfused 4 unit of blood. Now muscle pain is not there, Hematologist is suggesting bone marrow test. I don't want to pursue the test now. In my life I never suffered from anemia previously. My current USG report shows no complexities. My question is: If the haemoglobin level increases after the blood transfusion (9 or 10), Can I approach for C section operation now? So that post delivery I can start the treatment for anemia if it is detected then.

Firstly dropping HB in such a rapid manner warrants to be investigated further. Just make sure to check all parameters such as MCH, MCHC, MCV as well as platelet, do complete iron studies, folate and B12 levels, screening for Sickle and Thalassemia based on MCH levels. Once all ruled out then it becomes easier to conclude on iron deficiency. In this case yes you can have a Caesarean section with a HB of 9. Good Luck with your pregnancy. Please make sure to take iron with VIT C related juices like orange or pineapple.
