Amalgam fillings deep

I have amalgam fillings deep which were done around 18 years back, can they be removed? And will it need RCT? Also do dentists in India Kolkata use rubber dam while removing amalgam?

Hi sir...      Yes ,amalgam fillings can be replaced by tooth coloured fillings     First and foremost is to take an x-ray,to rule the cause,whether the tooth needs a root canal treatment or not     If not, you can do a tooth coloured filling     We do use rubber dam to remove them and it is used widely in india

Hello Yes the filling can be removed now that’s now a problem For rubber dam please check with dentist you visiting After the filling is removed x day can tell you whether it has to go for rct or not

Hii, yes amalgam fillings can be removed and be replaced by tooth coloured fillings. As far as your concern about RCTthat your dentist need to access the tooth first whether it is required or not otherwise tooth coloured fillings can be done. Rubber dams are widely used in India as well.

Hello sir, yes we can remove amalgam respective of the condition of the amalgam and the teeth too, if you have any kind of pain or sensitivity it's mandatory to remove. Sometimes they serve you for good time but still it's good to change it over a period of time. We do use rubber dam to remove them.
