My father has been diagnosed with ALS. It's been six months since it's diagnosis. From last 2 months he has runny nose and serious cough. He took Amoxicillin 500mg course but it does not work. Please suggest a line of treatment.

ALS is Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. It is a very rare disease, as per the literature only a few thousand cases have been reported so far. The diagnosis must have been given by a Neurologist. I feel there should be no change in his treatment for cough and cold. But since you have raised this point on this forum (apparently without consulting with your Neurologist , I suggest you please consult with your Neurologist. He may give a more concrete advice.
