Allergic cough and elevated IgE level

2021-07-03 16:24:05
Respected sir/madam, I'm getting hives almost every night.. The skin becomes itchy and bumpy mostly on the hand and sometimes on and around thighs.. They go away by morning without leaving any marks Due to persistent cough I got my lungs checked and everything is normal but IgE immunoglobulin is 1300 which is supposed to be less than 200..I have no history of drug allergy so far I'm a dentist... So I would like to know it this elevated IgE level could cause anaphylaxis if I take covid vaccine? Please help me doctors... Much appreciated❤

Hi sir as u r aware that increased ige means allergy. Irrespective of cause, after thorough studies, GINA has updated their guidelines  that any kind of allergy to food or dust doesnt cause any harm during vaccination. If the allergy was documented to previous vaccination or any of itd component only then u should avoid  taking vaccine.

If you do not have any allergies to vaccines in the past, you may take the vaccine.
Next Steps
Elevated IgE levels needs further evaluation. Consult a pulmonologist/allergy specialist.

You can take vaccine. Ige levels increse ,indicate allergy..it appears, you are suffering from?urticaria and?allergic bronchitis. The cause you must find out..either food,dust,etc...Pl Take a course of antihistamines.if you have any doubts,pl consult Pulmonologist online with all the reports and treatment taken.
