I was diagnosed with PCOS and prediabetes last fall. I cut back on alcohol consumption after many years of abuse. Now when I do have several drinks it seems my body isn't allowing it to metabolize as fast and I Black out quite often when drinking. I was wondering what process in the body causes the alcohol to metabolize slower and/or why my body takes so long to work through it and make me ill for a full 24-48 hours after consumption has ended. Does it have any affect with the insulin resistance
Alcohol is know to improve insulin sensitivity. But chronic use leads to insulin resistance. After a binge people usually eat less and that might be responsible for your symptoms
My Hba1c result is 5.7, while all other tests show no sugar.
