Benzoyl peroxide cream or gel is an effective medication for acne. You can use it if you have active acne. Usually soaps don't have much effect on acne. If there is dryness after application of medications,  you can apply ahaglow acne control moisturizer or acnemoist moisturizer.

Usually benzoyl peroxide can cause slight burning and redness but subsides in no time. Otherwise it works well on comedonal acne.
