Acid reflux

2025-06-15 03:26:47
For the past 2 days I have had some acid reflux, mild pain in my abdomen upper and middle back, stool not clear, fullness, loss of appetite, and bloating. Sometimes I feel nauseated. What is the exact problem? How to cure?

Your symptoms suggest gastritis or acid reflux (GERD), possibly with indigestion or functional dyspepsia. The back pain could be referred pain from the stomach. Triggers may include spicy food, stress, late meals, or irregular eating habits. You may benefit from: Pantoprazole 40 mg once daily before breakfast for 5–7 days Antacid syrup (e.g., Digene) 2 tsp after meals if bloating persists Domperidone if nausea is bothersome Next Steps Avoid spicy, oily, and heavy meals Eat early dinners (at least 2 hrs before sleep) Stay upright for 30–45 mins after eating If symptoms persist beyond 7 days, get an abdominal ultrasound and stool routine test done, and consult a gastroenterologist. Helpful Tips Avoid over-the-counter painkillers as they can worsen gastritis. If black stool, vomiting, or severe back pain occurs, visit a hospital urgently to rule out ulcers or pancreatitis.

Any history of GERD ? If this is a non recurring complaint then a course of PPI's are enough, but if it's recurring further evaluation to check on GERD or chronic gastritis is advised.
