I had been newly married,it's been 1month now, my doubt is before getting pregnant,how many months should prior, we should take follic tablet and why it is important to take before getting pregnant.

Before planning a pregnancy you should get the folic acid medicines 3 months prior as this will increase the quality of egg so that there is no abnormal baby formation from your side especially down syndrome and other abnormalities like neural tube defect something related to brain and spine will be avoided by using this medicine before 3 months of trying to conceiving the baby
