A pimple or two just before periods.

Dont have acne prone skin, no pcos. Tend to get a pimple or two just before periods. How to prevent it. Can tretinoin 0.04% be used once a week on whole face to prevent it (prescribed by my doc). Also how to incorporate tretinoin along wirh aha bha 32% peel which i use twice a week and niacinamide and vitamin c serum.

You can.. however treatment depends on the grade..Acne or  pimples... Due to hormonal changes..Oily skin causes it...Common in adolescent age...May occur in adults also.. Food like Oily foods, ice cream, chocolate and sweets increase it.. Treatment depends on the grade of pimples or acne..So, please  send photos by direct online consultation as it's a must to see which grade of pimples or acne for accurate diagnosis and treatment.

I usually advise my patients who are acne prone or get occasional breakouts, to use micronised tretinoin 0.04% twice a week or even on alternate days (to be applied at bedtime in either of the two situations). It usually gives a good response and also helps in facial rejuvenation.
