8 Month old not drinking milk

2026-03-10 22:57:35
My 8 month old son has stopped drinking any milk at night. It started when he turned 7 month old at first he used to take only 1 feed of 90 ml, then it became 60, then 30 and now 0. Even at daytime also his milk intake has reduced. I give him solids 2 times in a day, at first he used to drink between 650 - 740ml still he is taking solids two times a day but his milk consumption is only 500-600 ml per day. His weight is around 7kgs and it is very difficult to increase his weight. Please suggest what should I do and why he has stopped taking milk?

Once you introduce a baby to solids, the bays milk intake decreases in proportion to the amount introduced. If milk intake is reducing, steadily increase solids in proportion. This will lead to appropriate weight gain. If still no weight gain kindly consult a Paediatrician.

After starting complementary semisolid feeds, it is natural for child to drink milk in lesser quantity.. Provided there is no history of fever / illness and weight gain should be there.
Next Steps
consult with pediatrician.
