Hello, Smiling back, laughing, and making eye contact are appropriate social milestones for her age. Regarding the other social milestones you mentioned—such as imitating sounds, copying facial expressions, and enjoying looking at herself in the mirror—you can continue to observe her closely. She may achieve these over the next couple of months. Around 6 months of age, infants usually begin babbling sounds like “ma,” “ba,” and “da,” and may squeal with joy. If her motor milestones, such as good neck control and rolling over, have been achieved appropriately, there is no need to worry. Every infant develops at their own pace, and there is generally an acceptable variation of about 2 months in achieving developmental milestones. Continue to interact with her by talking, singing, playing, and encouraging face-to-face communication. If you notice delays across multiple developmental domains or if you have ongoing concerns, do consult your paediatrician for a developmental assessment.

It is too early for her to copy facial expressions. If she is rolling, sitting with support, transferring things from one hand to another, like her feeding bottle etc.,her motor milestones are fine. If she is cooing and  speaking monosyllables like da,aa,ba...her language milestones are fine too. lf she recognizes you,is happy to see you,and smiles, her social milestones too seem appropriate. No need to worry. Just enjoy being with your child and celebrate her growth.
Next Steps
Just start her on Complementary feeding,if you haven't already. Ensure her vaccinations are on time and take her to the Pediatrician for her routine check-ups to track her normal growth.
Health Tips
Nothing to worry.

It looks fine, but it's too early to say anything definite. Let's wait and see.

Greetings your daughter makes good eye contact, smiles back, coos, and laughs. Babies develop communication skills at their own pace, and true babbling often begins later, between 6 and 10 months. Her responsive cooing and smiling indicate a healthy foundation for early back-and-forth social interaction. However, a lack of facial mimicry or a delayed start to babbling shares characteristics with early developmental variations. To support her progress, try sitting face-to-face, exaggerating your facial expressions, and echoing any sounds she makes.

From what you’ve described, it is reassuring that your baby is smiling, laughing, cooing and making good eye contact. Not copying facial expressions or not babbling at 6.5 months alone is usually not a cause for concern. Continue talking, singing and playing face-to-face with her. Monitor her progress over the next couple of months and discuss it with your pediatrician during the next routine visit.
