13 weeks after tibia fracture

2022-03-20 12:23:58
Good day I just got my leg cast removed yesterday after almost 13 weeks wearing the cast. I was treated without surgery. Now after the cast removal by my doctor, I noticed that my knee and ankle hurts. I don't feel pain at the fracture site. My leg is swollen. Pls what do I do to improve the overall condition of my leg after cast? Attached is a picture of my leg leg after cast

Hello Sir, There is absolutely nothing to worry about. The problem you are currently facing is absolutely normal. U need to start with physiotherapy exercises such as strengthening, range of motion exercises as soon as possible. Swelling will go once you start with weight bearing.
Next Steps
book online consultation on practo or visit nearest physiotherapist for advice.
Health Tips
Do not perform exercises without supervision.

You should go for rehabilitation. You should consult a physiotherapist in person for complete assessment and exercise therapy.

Apply ice pack twice a day to reduce swelling, also you need stretching and strengthening exercises to gain muscle strength to get the leg back to normal. Take physical therapy sessions for 2 weeks, everything will be back to normal.
