Menopause is a normal phase which happens to all women typically from late 40s to early 50s, where they have no menstrual period for one year marking the end of her reproductive cycle.

The average age for menopause is usually between late 40s to early 50s; however, in some women it can even occur in late 30s or early 40s.

Symptoms:
-menstrual changes like less frequent menstruation either light or heavy flow.
- Hot flushes and night sweats
- Dryness of vagina and either skin or eyes
- Insomnia
-Weight gain
-Depression or anxiety
- Hairfall and or increased or abnormal hair growth around chin, and face
- Decreased sex drive, painful intercourse due to dryness of vagina
- Joint and muscle pains

Perimenopause is a period before menopause that can begin 8-10 years before menopause but typically begins in late 30s or early 40s wherein a woman may experience menopausal symptoms. She can still get pregnant as ovaries still produce estrogen, though in lesser quantity.

Bleeding from the vagina after menopause isn't normal. Hence, it should be assessed by a doctor. It can be due to thinning of vaginal lining or endometrial lining causing degeneration or it may be due to endometrial or cervical cancer.
