Epilepsy is a central nervous system disorder that causes abnormal brain activity and leads to unusual behavior, loss of awareness, and loss of sensations. Any type of epilepsy can be diagnosed and treated by Neurologists. Depending on the type of epilepsy, Neurologists can prescribe medications.
Loss of blood supply or bleeding in the brain leads to a stroke. This can happen due to damage to the brain or damage to the blood vessels of the brain. Neurologists can diagnose and treat stroke with the help of medications. In severe and emergency cases, Neurosurgeons may perform brain surgery to treat a brain stroke.
