Yellow teeth - flurosis
My son is 2 yrs n 7 months old. Initially I used non fluoride toothpaste chikoo and then I found a white spot in his front tooth . so I started using Colgate kids toothpaste . he doesn't know to spit it out and mostly he will now . later the spot grew yellow in color thus ruptured his tooth. Now I could it spreading in other front teeth also. I suspect it to be flurosis . what I should to prevent it from spreading . is it reversible ? I don't want him to get humiliated at an early age . please share some advice.

Hello mam , as per your description it looks more like a cavity then fluorosis ... but would recommend you to meet a pedodontist because only on seeing clinically we can tell what exactly it is. Also if he doesn't know how to spit then continue with a non fluoridated tooth paste either Chico or pigeon

First of all the kids toohpaste has very less amount of fluoride and is safe even jf a child ingests. Although it is advised to spit it out. Secondly fluorosis is not a problem that is communicable so it cannot spread. The yellow stains that increased can be of fluoride but after that caries must have started thats why it is getting worse.

You mention of an early spot which you noticed and latter spread. Fluorosis does not spread and it's a wrong notion. I strongly suspect rampant dental caries.

Check with your dentist for topical fluoride application. In fact considering his age it would be difficult to do any definitive treatment.

Mam according to your description it appears to be early Carious lesion. That is cavity. It needs to be examined by a Pedodontist and treated also as soon as possible to prevent it from spreading.
