It can be due to the compression of the nerve at your cervical spine(neck area) as use the computer for long time, it can also lead to any tingling, pain or numbness/ heaviness etc in your arm or hand.
Next Steps
go for physitherapy..ultrasonic therapy for healing, tens for muscle relaxation and heat therapy for reducing inflammation may required . take rest. then the exercises are to be done and very much important.
Health Tips
For neck-at home.rest+.avoid forward neck bending, weight lifting, cold exposure ,long travelling or driving, no prolonged sitting,no long table work.

Hello there,,,,well usually working for long hours on computers does give you many musculoskeletal problems,,,,be it neck, shoulder, back or wrist pain....once you correct your posture and do basic stretching exercises....the pain should decrease...however you said you are loosing grip strength...this can be bcos of other factors as well.....do you get tingling or numbness in your fingers?
Next Steps
visit any orthopadecian or a musculoskeletal Physio to rule out carpel tunnel syndrome or other factors and to assess your self. regards & take care.
