Typhoid Fever
Typhoid fever is a systemic disease caused by Salmonella serotype Typhi.
SX â Fever, HA, arthralgia, pharyngitis, constipation, anorexia, abd pain.
PE â
Skin: pink, blanching lesions (rose spots) appear in crops on the chest and abdomen.
Abd: splenomegaly.
Next Steps
DX â Week 1: Blood Culture (positive for salmonella typhi). Week 2: Agglutination (Widal Test). Week 3: Stool Culture (positive for salmonella typhi). Week 4: Urine Culture.
Health Tips
