I need to know why all dentists recommend salt water gargle during rct period. Does it cures infection inside the tooth?

When we do rct so fibers holding the tooth get inflammed(swelled up) so salt water help in reducing the inflammation of fibers and controlling the pain/tenderness that patient usually complains during rct Saline water also has antibacterial properties
