Why am i getting sudden ankle pain without injury

I am a 29 year old male and I have been experiencing sudden ankle pain without injury for the past 8 days. I thought it would pass but, it has become more acute. What should I do? Must I wait or get medical advice ASAP as this is getting out of my hand. Thanks!!
