What is the function of epiglottis
I am interested to know the entire functioning of the epiglottis. What exactly is its purpose? What can harm its working? What happens if the epiglottis starts malfunctioning? What is the function of epiglottis? I would really appreciate if someone can answer these questions in detail. Thank you!

Epiglottis is a kid which flaps on the glottis that is your voice box or vocal fold !
It actually has function of airway protection
When we swallow epiglottis falls over vocal folds and protect it from food entering into trachea
Malfunction of it would cause aspiration and frequent cough !
