My wife is having wet cough which some times produces mucus. This increases in night when temp goes down. For last 4-5 days. What do you suggest?

Sir, whether she gets cough in the night on lying down position or else even during sitting position? Whether she has heart burn or sour belching associated with cough? Whether this problem is from last 4/5 days or else was since many days, I mean chronic?
