CA 19.9 is a protein and it is used as a tumor marker.
It’s normal range is 0-37U/ml.
It’s elevated in cancers like pancreatic cancer, bile duct cancers and non cancerous conditions like pancreatitis , cirrhosis , gall stones , bile duct leakage.
If CA 19.9 is elevated that’s doesn’t mean that your are having cancer. It’s used as a test in pancreatic cancer patients on treatment whether treatment is working or not.
