Are methylparaben and propylparaben SAFE because it seems they have been used in nearly all the cosmetic product also in many of the really good product... And it seems that there are not enough studies that proves parabens are explicitly carcinogenic... Dr What are your SUGGESTIONS and TAKE ON THIS is this Safe to use... Is there any other disadvantages of using facewash or creams containing parabens (methyl and propyl)...

Parabens are commonly used as preservative in cosmetic products. There has been a lot of controversy regarding skin cancer, estrogen activity, allergies BUT none of these claims have been proven . Recent studies suggest Parabens specially methyl paraben n ethyl paraben are safe to use in the concentration present in cosmetics. In fact they are a better choice than using some less proven preservative.
