I have been administering an Australian brand of Vit D liquid drops to my daughter since birth who is 10 months old now. The dosage advised on the package and that recommended by doctors for her age is 0.5 ml per day. Now I am looking for an Indian brand to replace this but I see that all the drops here says that 0.5ml is equal to 400IU while the Australian brand was 0.5ml=200IU. Which is the correct dosage? How much should be given?
Also is there an Indian brand of VitD drops in strawberry flavour available because my daughter is not liking any other now after been taking the other one.
As per recommendation the dose of vitamin D in infants is 400 IU per day for 1 year of age.
Some formulation may contain 0.5ml =400 IU
While some mag contain 1ml = 400 IU.
Please check the label of the medication.
