Viral fever followed Continuous hiccups

My father is suffering from viral fever in the last week and through some doctors medication was injected twice a day with some dosage.. now because of the dosage he is suffering from continuous hiccups since two days.. please help us how to stop the hiccups and what is the reason behind??

HELLO, LIQUID XYLOCAIN FOUR TEASPOON FULL AT A TIME HICCUPS STOP. YOU CAN REPEAT IF NEEDED. HICCUPS MAY BE AS SUCH OR I DON'T KNOW ABOUT INJECTION GIVEN. USUALLY AT THIS AGE HICCUPS MAY BE THEIR. O.K, BYE.
