Veneers vs retainers

If one doesn't want to get his/tooth trimmed down at all, but still wants to close the gap in front teeth, are veneers better alternatives or retainers? All other teeth are perfectly aligned, but there's just one front crooked tooth that creates this gap. So what would be faster and longer lasting out of the two? Rather how much time would each take? And approximate costs?

This midline spacing of yours is known as diastema and in your case it's between 1-2mm only which makes it an ideal case for direct composite build up as it is long lasting , least invasive as it won't require any tooth preparation unlike veneers and it will give you immediate gratification.. Because it is a single sitting job.

Just book an appointment for yourself at your dentist.Good luck.
Health Tips
1.Please ensure that your lip frenum (labial frenum)attachment is normal and is not the cause of this gap as if that is causing this gap then you need to get the attachment corrected simultaneously. 2.Also get one X ray done for this region to look for the supernumerary tooth (extra tooth)which may be lying underneath your gums and could have led to this gap formation .

Direct composite buildup will be the best option. VENEERS need some preparation of the teeth. But in buildup no cutting is required. It would last and can be d done in 3 to 4k. And this is a single sitting procedure would j just take 1 hr.
