I can understand your concern. This is a case of rectal injury during the hysterectomy surgery. These things are like accidents which do happen during any sort of invasive medical procedures (Just like any train or car accidents) and are not intended. As I can see they have found out the problem and initiated the correct treatment. They have done what we call colostomy for time being , so that we get enough time for the rectum to heal. They will repeat tests/scans after about 3-6 months and once found normal, will do the re-do surgery so that normal anatomy is restores. I would say she will be better by about 15 days and absolutely normal by 6 months if everything is normal..
