Uretero Pelvic Junction Obstruction

2024-10-05 15:52:07
Hello Doctors, My baby born was born on 5th Sept (almost a month old now), weighing 3.6kg(4.4 kg as of 4th Oct) and during routine pregnancy check up, it was identified that he had a swollen kidney. A follow-up sonography post-delivery also confirmed the swelling. He seems healthy otherwise, passes urine without discolouration and has not other issues. Is this something to worry about. Is my baby safe?

Please visit a pediatric surgeon. They are experts in dealing with this condition. This requires close follow up. Since it is mild it may resolve on its own

Please repeat the scan after 6 weeks again and if there is an increase in size or increase in obstruction.... Then treatment will be warranted... Till then continue with Breastfeeding and vaccination... Monitor his urine output and urine steam. Monitor if there is dripping of urine. These things are important in plan further plan
