Understanding the human brain.

A year back Netflix launched this webseries Monster:- Jeffrey Dahmer, which portrayed the real life monster Jeffrey Dahmer. I couldn't even watch the 1st ep back then and have not watched it even till today. However I was watching a youtube podcast yesterday and I came across him again. They were mentioning Jeffrey Dahmer and Ted Bundy. The two unbelievably horrible human beings that once were a part of this society. What exactly runs through their minds? How can someone be as cruel as they were? They were finding pleasure in what they were doing, how can a human mind feel that way? I'm a person taking treatment for bipolar depression for the last 4 years. I'm on 3 antidepressants and clonazepam. I'm feeling extremely guilty and bad these days even for the smallest of things. Even though the other person was not hurt, I assume he was and I had actually written sorry for 1000 times, punished myself by making deep cuts on my body. How can those two never feel guilty of what they did?

Encountering stories about real-life monsters like Jeffrey Dahmer and Ted Bundy can be deeply unsettling. It's tough to fathom the cruelty they exhibited. It's crucial to acknowledge that their actions are extreme and not representative of the majority of people. Your feelings of guilt and distress are completely valid, especially given your ongoing battle with bipolar depression. Unlike these individuals, who may not experience guilt in the same way, it's important to recognize the diversity of human minds and behaviors. In your situation, therapy becomes an essential ally in navigating these intense emotions and discovering healthy coping mechanisms. Alongside your medication for bipolar depression, therapy can equip you with tools to manage challenging feelings, helping you carve out a meaningful and contented life. Remember, seeking help is a testament to your strength, and your mental health journey is uniquely yours.
