Umbilical hernia surgery without mesh

Is there any way to perform umbilical hernia surgery without using mesh, And what kind of procedures and implants that can be used. Will there be any discomfort post surgery, if used mesh or any other implants?

Consult with a surgeon physically . There are different types of hernia repair like open n laparoscopic. Mesh is now standard for repair of any hernia irrespective of size.

Yes. We can umbilical hernia surgery  without mesh if defect less than 3 CMS. Mesh reenforcement decrease s recurrence if larger defect size of hernia
