Hi,
My father is suffering from ulcerative colitis. Is there any cure for this disease?
He has started taking medication 6 months back but no much improvement. He has only gotten weaker. We are having a tough time as we are afraid to take him to hospital during covid. Please advice.
Surgery,ie removal of colon is the cure of ulcerative colitis,other wise by using medication patient being treated and need continuous treatment in one form or other. Spontaneous remission or cure is seen in 17 percent of people.

Ulcerative colitis can be managed by Medicine. I will need further details of your treatment to suggest u better. Sometimes Medicine are not given in appropriate doses so people don't respond well.
It's a disease for which medicine needs to be given for few years to many years.
