Is there any significance to undergo colonoscopy and faecal calprotectin test at the same time or within a gap of few days . I have some feeling that this test is to be done in order to avoid repeatative colonoscopy.

Follow up with colonoscopy is better. If you are in remission then colonoscopy once every year is enough. But you have relapses then getting colonoscopy at the time of relapse is important. Any changes in bowel habits require immediate colonoscopy.

Calprotectin is to know if it is ibd or not. If ibd is ruled out that suggest possibility of IBS. For ibs repeated colonoscopy is not needed But if ibd is suspected or confirmed then repeated  colonoscopies may be needed.
