Yes need to give insulin three times a day depending on the sugars for good glycemic control. Consult paediatric Endocrinologist

Hi... yes your doctor told right.... in type 1 diabetes.. in children... its better 3 to 4 times insulin in divided dose... what ever numbers after insulin is in better range... Continue same line of treatment
