Is it possible to get Type 1 diabetes at the age of 30? How can we identify whether the diabetes is Type1 or type 2? Is the type1 diabetes curable? What are medication available for type1 diabetes?

Type 1 DM can occur at any age, eldest case reported being of 79 years. There are a few autoantibodies like GAD65, Anti IA2, and ICA. The tests are very costly and are usually not needed. Consultation with an experienced diabetologist is usually good enough. Type 1 DM is not curable and the only treatment option currently available is Insulin.
