TSH level 7 in 7 weeks pregnency
I have hypothyroid since 2017 along with pcod and previously l was taking thyronorm 75 as prescribed. After getting pregnant (7weeks) I tested it and result is tsh7. Now dr prescribed me to take extra 12.5 mg. My question is - is it harmful for my baby ,I have any chance of miscarriage ?
yes it can cause changes in ur baby. pregnancy itself is a hyper thyroid thing. I don't think u need any treatment

Please take an increased dose as suggested and repeat Serum TSH after 2 weeks. If TSH is still not controlled we will need to increase the Thyronorm dose further

In all women thyroid Tablet requirement is increased and may even have to be doubled. After delivery thyroxine requirement will come down once again . Do not compromise on this otherwise you can have a mentally retarded cretin as baby. In pregnancy hypothyroidism is overtreated due to this reason . Hyperthyroidism on the other hand is undertreated as the baby uses up the extra thyroxine
