TPHA/VDRL reactive

I gone for Saudi medical test found TPHA/VDRL reactive. Then went to Dermatology in Hyderabad, thye did biospy did the test again found reactive and ask me to take penicillin injection and do the retest after 4 weeks. I have taken the injection and went for retest after 8 weeks. found test is reactive again . was the diagonise is correct is this not curable. I have few rashes in skin ( no itching, no pain ) since 2009 it came when i traveled to USA NY/NJ, there i have shown to doctor

VDRL may take few years to become Non reactive or may remain positive in low concentration or titres. TPHA remains positive through out life usually

Better to see wether there is response to treatment or not you should go for quantitative assay but VDRL will remain reactive but you have to see what is titre now, means are you infective to others or not. Go for quantitative assay by VDRL
